Former Metropole Hotel, Sliema
Built over the site of the old Metropole Hotel, this prestigious new development is situated in Sir Adrian Dingli Street, Sliema. This property will consist of 29 luxuriously finished three bedroom apartments and three penthouses finished to the highest international standards.
Only two minutes on foot from the Sliema Promenade with a spectacular view of the beach and the Mediterranean. Except for the ground floor, apartments boast either a spacious terrace or a typical Maltese balcony. A feature of the Metropole is the spacious layout of the apartment and penthouses on all six floors is a feature of the Metropole. The New Parliament Building – Valletta
Malta’s new parliament is composed of two buildings, situated side by side. The building on the left will house offices spread across three levels, with the party in power, the official opposition, and the Speaker of the House on separate floors.
The building on the right will house the parliament chamber.
These buildings are ‘on stilts’, elevated on steel beams so that the ground floor of the structures are open-air. This space will be public and pedestrianized when the structure officially opens, and says a lot about the symbolism of this building: open, permeable, welcoming.
Archi+ were contracted by the lead contractor to act as the client’s representatives and project managers for the finishes package of the building. This particular project is distinctive as it adopts a large number of different design features that are not commonplace in Malta. This means that not only is such a commission prestigious because of the actual build, but also because of the multitude of new and ingenious practices and services that needed to be implemented for such a project to be successful.
